Design the climate and the weather yourself – with Breathe Earth Collective and Clara Robledo.
In the course of the open workshop, 20 participates get the opportunity to design the climate and the weather in miniature by creating ‘Micro Mundos’, hence little worlds, in terrariums. Those Micro Mundos should help retrace macro topics on a small-scale base and understand global climate issues better. By learning how the balance between plants and the air-water-cycle in the terrariums works on a small scale, the environmental awareness of the participants should be increased.
The workshop is supported by Austrian ‘Breathe Earth Collective’, that aims at creating ‘Breathing Spaces’ in cities with a high level of air pollution, and Columbian anthropologian, gardener and botany expert Clara Robledo. Together with her studio ‘La Savia’, Robledo has been working on this design project, that is now the base for the workshop, for some years. The goal is to give people an idea of the nutrients provided by nature.
With the help of the project they also want to create a link between the cities of Graz and Medellín, the home town of Robledo. In Latin America, Medellín counts among the cities with the highest air pollution
