VOM SAKKO ZUR IPAD-TASCHE
Workshop with Lisa D und Esther-Kaya Stögerer
30. und 31. Mai | 10-15 Uhr | registration until 13 May (5 pm)
Everyone is familiar with the situation: clothes hanging disregardedly in the closet, having gone out of fashion long since but still - the owner's attachment prevails. This workshop shows how to keep them, to turn them into something new. Lisa D and Esther-Kaya Stögerer will give insights into theory and practice of repairing and will give help and advice for the development of own designs. The Experts also supervise the temporary alteration atelier (7 - 30 May) in Wiesler-Depot, Griesgasse 7. Workshop-registration: office@cis.at
POP-UP STORES IN FRONT OF DESIGNHALLE
Until 2 June | 12-7 pm | in front of designHalle (Lazarettgürtel 62, gegenüber Citypark)
From 3 May until the end of Design Month on 2 June Pop Up Stores in front of designHalle will be run by local designers from Graz. Differnt labels are using six containers to present their work. Visitors of the exhibitions at designHalle should definitely take their time to saunter through this small shopping area and stop by the shops. On 12 May "knitting network" (Vienna) will take over being followed by WOLLWERKSTATTHERZSCHMERZ from 20 May onwards. Product designers of Innolab at the University Campus02 will also be present with works and prototypes (13-19 May). And Paul Alltag, PINESTONE furniture design, muchar upcycles, and the fashion designers Palo Alto, Gilgenbach, gertrud and schmucklos are presenting their work until the end of Design Month at 2 June.
FH LECTURE DAYS

“Eventization”, spectacle society and design – under this motto, high-class lecturers gather for the Lecture Days, such as Ulrich Fuchs, the man who made Linz and Marseille European Capitals of Culture or Jörg Sürmann, whose international platform for contemporary product design DMY in Berlin has established itself to an organization which curates design exhibitions in German-speaking countries.
FREIMEISTEREI MARTINA SPERL
16 and 17 May | 10 am - 6 pm | Freimeisterei (Lendplatz 40)
What has the upholsterer to do with furniture and how can favourite items be refurbished? The upholsterer Martina Sperl will show on two days how lively and time-honoured the craftsmanship of the upholsterer remains until today and how exciting and creative the work with fabric and wood can be.
JEDER FÄNGT MAL klein AN (Exhibition Opening)

Design for kids - made understandable. Ulrike Leitner, Lisa Koller, Pia Scharler, Daria Biryukova, Jakob Posch and Madeleine Plass, graduates from the University of Applied Arts Vienna, present at the perludi showroom design for kids - i.e. a foldable cradle made of cardboard which models on the natural moves in a mother’s stomach and therefore, appeals especially soothing for the baby.
ZEITGESPRÄCHE (Symposium)

How do technology, talent and tolerance support creative regions? How is creativity explained in economy, society, science or art? Creativity, tolerance, coincidence, innovation: these topics and more are discussed by the discussion forum of the city of Hartberg and by “Initiative für Neue Zeitkultur“ in cooperation with Creative Industries Styria and “Denkzeitraum” (Institute for Philosophy at the University of Graz).
GREEN PANTHER NOMINIERUNGSPARTY

The Green Panther awards the most creative heads of the Styrian advertising industry. This year, it celebrates its 25th anniversary. New will be a public voting: in four categories, also the audience can decide about the awarding of an “Audience Panther”. For the Green Panther Nomination Party the building of Energy Graz is reserved on May 16.
FRUITMAP.AT PLUS

Design your free local menu II - the project fruitmap.at, initiated by the Institute for Architecture and Landscape by the TU Graz will present a platform for a common harvesting in public spaces, based on an interactive map – within the city of Graz and beyond. What is ready to harvest in May will be the starting point for common cooking, culinary creations and experimentations.
SCHMUCKES - FINISSAGE
